Before I tell you what you should be eating to lose weight; I want to make sure you know what you should be avoiding to make your weight loss efforts successful.
The Wrong Foods
Carbonated Beverages – Diet Soda, actually the consumption of artificial sweeteners like NutraSweet and Saccharin, causes you to store fat and crave calories!
Ironic isn’t it?
A study appearing in the February issue of Behavioral Neuroscience cites laboratory evidence that the widespread use of no-calorie sweeteners may actually make it harder for people to control their intake and body weight. This might explain in part why obesity has risen in parallel with the use of artificial sweeteners.
Artificially sweet foods provide a “significant stimulus” that strongly signals your body it’s about to take in a lot of calories. Your digestive reflexes gear up for that intake but when false sweetness isn’t followed by lots of calories, your system gets confused. Thus, you may eat more or expend less energy than you otherwise would. Result…you gain more fat from “diet” drinks!
Eating Empty Caloric Foods
Oh they taste good! However chips, candy and other “junk” food puts abundant calories into your body but does not provide any nutritional substance your body needs. Even after you consume a bag of chips, your body still craves real food because your body knows it needs proper nutrition to be healthy. Your body now sends a signal it wants real food…the question is will you now supply it with real nutrition or more junk?
White Bread, White Pasta
Did you know white bread, white flour, white pasta, etc. has been stripped of all its nutritional value? Yes, anytime man processes a natural food, like whole wheat flour, we turn it into a form of food that has very little to no nutritional value. Consequently, our bodies have a hard time digesting it.
Consuming white bread, white pasta will actually clog your colon and cause a decrease in the absorption of nutrients. As a result your body craves more food to get nutrition that is requires and signals you to consume more calories leading to more fat.
